This paper uses information from several clusters in four Latin American countries (a salmon cluster in Chile, four agro-industry clusters and one metalworking cluster in Brazil, a milk and dairy cluster in Nicaragua and a furniture and several software clusters in Mexico) to explore interactions between cluster dynamics and global value chains by sector.  The authors’ analysis incorporates the fourfold typology of upgrading  and concludes with policy recommendations for cluster policy.
